Enrichment

At Enrich Academy we value all aspects of development of our students and endeavor for all students leave as well-rounded citizens. Cultural Capital is interwoven into our curriculum offer and additional enrichment time is given to allow students to explore different interests.  These sessions are delivered one afternoon per week and students are able to choose from the following on a half termly basis:

Cooking

Student will explore a range of dishes to support them to live independently and to learn a range of valuable domestic skills.

Forest school

Students will work in an outdoor environment to learn outdoor survival skills such as barbequing, fire lighting and den building.

Carpentry Air and Modelling

Students will work to design and manufacture a wooden aircraft.  These sessions will enable students to develop mathematical skills which will enhance their ability in other areas of the curriculum.

ICT

Students are able to learn a range of essential ICT skills to support them in school and beyond.  Students will have the opportunity to write CVs, search for jobs, write emails and learn how to navigate Microsoft packages.

Sports

Physical fitness is paramount to wellbeing so engagement in additional sporting activities will teach students healthy habits and promote a healthy mindset.

Nurture

Students have the opportunity to spend some time in our nurture classrooms to enable them to strengthen their social, emotional and mental health resilience whilst enhance their ability to engage in their academic studies.

Gaming club

If gaming is their passion, they can spend some down time playing a range of games including board games, card games and PlayStation games.

Esports level 1 BTEC

Esports (or electronic sports) is a term used to describe competitive video gaming. It’s different from standard video gaming in that esports is competitive (human-vs-human) and usually has an engaging spectator element to it, like traditional sports. Students choosing this as an enrichment option will also gain a level 1 BTEC qualification; however, it will take the majority of the academic year to achieve.

Hair and Beauty

Students will be able to work on hair, nails and make up on our hair and beauty room.  They can enhance their practical skills or practice with different equipment on creating a new look.
